Our Story

Making a positive change in the world is very important to JustNeem. Our focus is Mauritania, West Africa. This area of Africa is 90% desert and the people there suffer with extreme drought and poverty.

There are very few natural resources that exist there, except for the indigenous desert tree, the Neem Tree. This mahogany-like tree, grows well in this part of Africa.

Because of it’s healing properties and history in medicinal practices, Neem is the base for all our products.

In Mauritania, West Africa, we create jobs centered around this tree. We purchase all our Neem raw material from Mauritania, using existing Neem trees and paying a fair market price for labor and goods.

This helps create jobs and generates income for families living with few resources. This is why we call ourselves Just Neem!

With proceeds from soap sales, JustNeem is now funding the planting of Neem trees in neighborhoods and have established a Neem tree orchard.

Cary Chamber Ribbon-Cutting Celebrates Woman Power

Cary, NC – The Historic Heater House, at 120 Dry Avenue, was built in 1918 by the Heater family. Years later it was used as a dormitory for students and then owned by several other families. But in the early 2000′s the property was purchased, restored and renovated into an executive suites office building, now named The Historic Heater Center.

Last week, The Cary Chamber of Commerce celebrated the seven businesses that occupy the Historic Heater Center with a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony. All of the seven businesses are women-owned and operated.

Delancy Carroll, Vice President of Member Business Services, presided over the occasion.

“This business center is a wonderful example of what we are trying to accomplish here in downtown Cary,” said Carroll. “I am especially proud that these are all women owned businesses that reside in this beautifully renovated historic home.”

The build up of oil can cause irritation and redness, and bacteria can multiply rapidly. The bacteria can cause infection. Neem provides antibacterial properties and contains aspirin like substances that reduce redness and inflammation. Neem, with its healing properties, can assist in bringing balance and healing to acne prone skin.

Acne is best dealt with in three steps: cleanse, treat and protect. Cleansing your skin, removing bacteria buildup, is the most important step. Most medicated cleansing products use a harsh chemical called salicylic acid which can be drying and irritating. Ideally, cleansing should be done with a mild moisturizing soap, with no abrasives or alcohol. Neem soaps are great for acne because of neem’s antibacterial qualities. It is important however to review ingredients carefully to check for a neem oil base and natural moisturizing ingredients as found in JustNeem’s all natural soap products.

I picked up my first soap at Apex Peak Fest on May 3rd as the lady I spoke with told me of it’s antibacterial and antifungal properties. I broke my foot 6 weeks ago and have been wearing a cushion lined boot, but I can’t wash the lining everyday and this has really taken a toll on my foot. I have had trouble with the skin sloughing off and athlete’s foot. I thought I would give the soap a try. It has done wonders for my foot! Thank you for being at Peak Fest! I would much rather use something natural than chemicals to try to heal my foot.

Some testimony for you:
I used to wash my face with the coconut soap and had the lavender at my tub and loved how wonderful it cleared up my blemishes and healed my skin. The neem also kept my skin from getting dry and itchy during the winter. I was bitten on my feet and ankles by fire ants after my dogs walked me through a mound. I came home and jumped in the tub to wash my feet. I used the neem soap and it immediately reduced the excruciating sting. I washed my feet again that evening before going to bed and the next morning the bites were gone! Those buggers hurt and the neem soap cleared the irritation right up!

I had a soap on hand when a co-worker had caught a case of poison ivy on his feet. He came into the office that day wearing flip flops because his feet were so irritated and they were beet red from itching them. I brought the soap the next day and told him to go home at lunch and wash his feet and to not put on the shoes he had been wearing. He came back with socks and shoes on and felt so much better. The next day, the sting and itch was almost gone, and was completely healed. He was so miserable and he just though I was so special because I gave him the “special” soap.
